Tatenhill Aikido dojo was founded in 1986 by the late Michael Holloway, 6th Dan Shihan. It was subsequently given the name "I Shin Juku" which means "house of one heart" by T K Chiba, 8th dan shihan. The dojo is a member of Scottish & Borders Birankai.
